Family Picture Fiasco!

Can I just say wow! It is so hard to get 4 kids looking at the camera. Glad we are not going on to 5! Ava was intent on her shoes the whole time. She was fascinated by them. Wouldn't look at anything else or get her hands out of her mouth. By the time we would get her to look up, my other adorable children had forgotten we were even trying to take pictures. Good times really! I have completed my once a year duty. Poor Ava...she is 4 months old and this is the first time I have gotten her pictures taken. Jacob has his done at 2 weeks old and then every 3 months for the first 2 years....My, My, My, how times change! The pictures turned out cute overall. I planned on getting the 7.99/sheet special. Curry is a softy and bought the HUGE package deal because he loved the collage they made up of the girls. You know, the one they try to trap you with. It worked! I love my kids! They are good cute kids! Wouldn't want to be doing anything else right now! They grow so quickly! It makes me sad in a way to watch them grow. I need to get rid of the first two sets of baby clothes since Ava has outgrown them but I can't bring myself to do it! I want the storage room but can't bring myself to do it yet!

Hey guys! So this weeks definitely been a change. Its been quite a bit of a struggle. I'm wanting to help the people and dive right into the work, but its kind of hard to do that in a Spanish speaking mission and not being able to speak Spanish, and if the people don't let us help them. We are on the streets for about 3-6 hours a day trying to make contacts and find more people to teach with little or no success. Its definitely not been good for me. I like to feel like whenever I do something to see results, but I'm not seeing results and i was getting down pretty hard on myself. But i have to realize that i probably wouldn't stop and talk to someone out on the street that had a message about religion either, so with that in mind we are doing OK i guess. I just wish there was more i could be doing out here, but there's not much I can do without taking away their agency, and that's not what we are about. Octobre 28, 2019 Contacting and Catholics

Hey all so this week has been exactly what the subject line says. A lot of contacting, all of which are Catholics. You might be thinking, "Elder Gunnell, everyone cannot be Catholics." And what I say to you is yes Everyone that we've talked to are Catholics. A really big change from everyone being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints to Catholics, but it's pretty great. But yeah this weeks just been a lot of signs and English classes.  We had Zone conference this week and there was a lot about managing stress. Just different ways we can deal with it and get over it. And then president Hess talked about being all in to the work. FULL SEND!!! And he also was stressing a lot on the role that members have in missionary work. October 15, 2019 safe arrival of your son to the mission field

Dear Brother and Sister Gunnell, Thank you for your help in sending your son, Elder Joshua Dee Gunnell, to serve in the New Jersey Morristown Mission.  I had the pleasure of welcoming Elder Gunnell at the  Newark International Airport.  Enclosed is a picture of him with Sister Hess and me and a picture of him with the other missionaries that arrived with him . We have also included a letter regarding the communication process and some ideas of how you can feel a part of the mission while supporting Elder Gunnell. I interviewed him and found him eager and prepared to be an outstanding missionary. Sister Hess and I look forward to working with him and consider him as if he were one of our own sons.
